Our center was inaugurated by the renowned father of diabetology, PADMASRI Prof. Dr. V. Seshaiah, who provided his expertise and guidance to our team. With his guidance, we conducted groundbreaking research on gestational diabetes at Yercaud hills, the first of its kind in India. We also established the Dr. MGU Diabetic Foot Research Foundation in Salem, the first in the region, which continues to provide exceptional care to diabetic foot patients. The foundation was inaugurated by Prof. Z. Metelko, Zagreb, Europe

Our commitment to excellence has been recognized by the Salem Corporation, which awarded us the Best Doctor Award for training 75 diabetes educators under the NDEP program. We have organized more than 75 diabetes journal club meetings for primary care physicians and specialists presented and published research papers nationally and internationally, and conducted the Landmark Study as investigators.
Our center’s latest achievement is the Diabetes Express Train, launched during World Diabetes Day celebrations in 2017, which created history by spreading awareness about women and diabetes to over 2 lakh people.

For the past 15 years, we have published the monthly Tamil diabetes education magazine “Insulin,” providing crucial information and advice to our patients and their families.

Our commitment to providing exceptional care is evident in our yearly diabetes expo, a mega-free diabetes detection and awareness exhibition that benefits over 10,000 patients every year, and our efforts to conduct over 250 free diabetes detection camps in rural areas, protecting 300 feet and reaching out to underserved communities.
